About the Program
The Master of Integrated Design is a four-semester, full-time program taught in English at the Detmold School of Design. The program focuses on state-of-the-art digital tools and a modern approach to building for the future.
Students can choose between two specializations:

Computational Design – integrating architecture, technology, and creativity through advanced digital methods.

Facade Design – focusing on aesthetics, innovation, and sustainability in facade construction.
Both tracks combine architecture, engineering, and design, with hands-on projects and collaborations with industry leaders.

Internationality
Graduates earn the internationally recognized degree Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), which also qualifies for senior public service positions in Germany.
The program prepares students to work in a globalized construction industry shaped by digital transformation, innovative building materials, and evolving planning processes. You will gain expertise in traditional design methods as well as digital analysis, planning, and production.
Interaction
The MID emphasizes interdisciplinary and international cooperation. Students work closely with external partners, universities, planning offices, software companies, and the construction industry. This network creates valuable opportunities for collaboration and exchange.

Curriculum
