Collaborative Design
(Vernetzt Entwerfen)
WS 2021/22
In the first semester students acquire fundamental digital skills. To develop their respective tasks, students work both independently and in teams fostering self-organization and collaboration.
Task 1
With the aid of Gimp, Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo, the students create a visual collage of a fictional architectural concept. They develop two different frontal views of a swimming townhouse using both self-taken and researched photographs.
Task 2
Based on the architectural diagrams developed in the first task, the students translate the frontal views of their townhouse into a 2D-model in Vectorworks. This also serves as preparation for the following third task.
Task 3
As the core assignment in this module, the third task teaches Vectorworks and BIM principles through collaborative learning and design.
The students collaborate to develop a swimming townhouse, primarily working in 3D modelling. They generate views, perspectives, sections, and more from their models.
Task 4
Lastly the students are tasked to transform their 3D-models into a comprehensive architectural design plan. Thus the students can explore how to visually convey their design, using various 2D representations such as sections and elevations.
