Introduction Workshop

The intensive 4-day program will be a “SKILL DRILL” in digital design methods for all incoming master students of the programs MID, MIAD and MIAR. Main topics are generative and parametric design techniques leading to digital fabrication process (Digital Model Making). The fabrication of models will be proceeded in our 52°09°fabLab at the Campus in Detmold. The design task will be inspired by Gaudi’s famous hanging chain models.

Basically the participants will enter the world of generative design, using Grasshopper for Rhino, a powerful visual scripting language, while simultaneously applying their newfound knowledge to create physical objects and prototypes using advanced fabrication tools available in the 52°09°fabLab setting on our “Creativity Campus in Detmold”.
