In Juli 2024 we have released our design process documentation for a sustainable cabin design for the on-demand public transportation vehicle that drives on a single rail to allow bi-directional traffic, predominantly on abandoned rural train tracks. The book is published in two versions, a short one that explains basically the design concepts and shows developed studies like the functional design demonstrator presented to the NRW ministries and public on October 3rd 2023. A large edition explains the design development process form sketch to the built mock-up and fully functional features such as innovative displays and UI.

In addition to the books, we receive lots of feedback and great interest from all over the world even regarding a possible implementation of the MonoCab in regional projects. The MonoCab project is now in transition towards follow up projects and developments for the fusion of a fully working prototype including automated driving and the final cabin design which will provide the complete and unique monocab driving experience in 2-3 years. The video below shows the status of the project with two funtional and and (freely- no support!) driving tech demonstrators and one design demonstrator that shows the potentials of alternativ materials and connections for both: usability and comfort.
