SYMPOSIUM Architectural Imaginings

SYMPOSIUM Architectural Imaginings
Architecture has always imagined worlds before they exist.
On March 24, 2026, we will gather at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Mackenzie University (São Paulo) for the symposium:
Architectural Imaginings: Human–Machine Co-Creation
The event explores how architectural imagination is being transformed as generative models, artificial creativity, and computational aesthetics become part of the design process. Rather than focusing only on buildings, the symposium looks at the unbuilt, the project as image, and speculation as a form of architectural practice.
The program brings together researchers and architects from Brazil, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including:
• Anne Save de Beaurecueil (Architectural Association – AA)
• Carlos Bañón (Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD))
• Hans Sachs (TH-OWL – Detmold School of Design)
• Ricardo de Ostos (Architectural Association – AA / UCL Bartlett School of Architecture)
• Igor Guatelli (Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie / Laboratoire GERPHAU ENSA Paris-La Villette)
• Damany Santos (USP – Universidade de São Paulo)
• Guilherme Bretas (USP – Universidade de São Paulo)
• Rodrigo Martin Iglesias (Universidad de Buenos Aires – UBA)
• Camila Zyngier (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – UFMG)
• Marcella Carone do Nascimento (Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie)
• Provides Ng (Chinese University of Hong Kong – CUHK / UCL Bartlett School of Architecture)
• Nivaldo Godoy Jr. (Belas Artes)
• Victor Sardenberg (Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie / TH-OWL)
The symposium will take place in person at FAU Mackenzie and will also be broadcast online.
