Detmolder Design Woche S8 Workshop / SS 24

CONTEXT

During the Detmold Design Week in the summer semester of 2024, a hands-on workshop module explores the exciting intersection of robotics and architecture through collaborative robotic fabrication. Led by Professor Victor Sardenberg with the help of Omar Abdelhady and Yusuf Aykin, the workshop focused on constructing a reciprocal structure—a form that exemplifies efficiency and elegance in structural design.

GOAL

Students of the computational program engaged with advanced robotic systems, learning to program and control them to fabricate intricate components that come together in a self-supporting network. This immersive experience highlights the potential of robotics in pushing the boundaries of design and fabrication, fostering innovation, and emphasizing teamwork in achieving complex architectural goals.
