Collaborative Design
(Vernetzt Entwerfen)
WS 2016/17
In the first semester students acquire fundamental digital skills. To develop their respective tasks, students work both independently and in teams fostering self-organization and collaboration.
Task 1
With the aid of Gimp, Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo, the students create a visual collage of a fictional architectural concept. They develop a frontal view of a utopian facade of a highrise building using both self-taken and researched photographs.
Task 2
As the core assignment in this module, the second task teaches Vectorworks and BIM principles through collaborative learning and design.
The students collaborate to develop a “shared tower”, primarily working in 3D modelling. They generate views, perspectives, sections, and more from their models.
Task 3
Based on the second assignment the students are tasked to render the inner view of their 3D-models. Thus the students can explore how to visually convey their design, generating an appealing and atmospheric perspective.
Task 4
Lastly the students document their work and design process by creating their own personal. This should not only include the finished results and final visualisations but also pictures and sketches made in the design process.
